We are spending a large part of our time and energy learning new ways of thinking about and relating to China, in the light of Britain and the west's historical wrongdoing there. (More on the history soon.)
We have taken small groups of friends to China in the past and will be doing so again. (Again, more soon: check back for details).
Our approach is guided by our Christian faith and especially our understanding that Jesus called his followers to be peacemakers. We explain a bit more on this page: Thinking about Peacemaking, Reconciliation and Intercultural Relations.
We try and occasionally review the news from China and commentary in the media on China - Reviewing News of China. There are also blog categories on China , China's Olympics, and East Asia Regional Relations . During this Olympic year we are trying to focus Christians to pray fro China, and are posting most days on a separate site: Pray for China.
We also have a specific blog China Encounters that seeks to engage with Chinese culture, history and international and regional current affairs in a different spirit, and fundamentally to honour China where in the past we have so often dishonoured China. Most of the time it is just links ot good articles on China, but we are trying to comment more and help visitors engage more with China.
Finally we have a blog that seeks to keep up to date on all that is reported and published about the Christian Church in China, as well as some about other religious traditions. Accounts are from China as well as elsewhere, and perspectives and allegiances of authors differ. While seeking not to be naive, we want to believe the best from all. Our hope is that published items as well as comment will lead to renewed engagement and relationships with the whole church in China.
